I could’ve been Queen Victoria
I got a funny little story to tell. Totally true. I you don’t wanna believe it, who cares. It really did happen. After the Royal Wedding happening, I figured I’d share the tale!
When I was 8 years old, had scraggly long hair and was a lil’ shit (ha) I was at a restaurant with my parents in London. My mother, father, godfather, his wife and I were all sitting having lunch. We had noticed that Princess Diana and Prince William were in the restaurant and everyone was rather starstruck. Me, being a little 8 year old asshole didn’t get what all the fuss was about.
The owner of the restaurant interrupted our dinner and explained that Prince William had requested to see me. I was completely indifferent and said I didn’t care. My mom was furious and begged me to go say hello (mainly so she could meet Princess Diana.) I responded with, “no, I don’t want to.”
My father finally convinced me into it by saying, “Victoria, you know when your mother gets REALLY angry? Well this is something she’ll be angry about for a LONG time.”
I agreed to go and walked up to their table with my mother. Princess Diana was absolutely beautiful and friendly and Prince William was charming. He was showing me missing teeth he had and everything. I was pretty uninterested because I was so distracted by some fancy bread they had on their table which was shaped like a crab and had raisins for eyes. I thought it was the coolest thing I’d ever seen! We had a brief chat and I sat back down.
After a while passed, the owner of the restaurant came up to us and explained William had wanted to see me one last time but Diana said they had to leave. He requested she tell me that he loved me.
And that’s that. Pretty awesome story. I was indifferent as a kid but now I think it’s pretty bad ass. As I watched the Royal Wedding, I thought … Could’ve been me! Haha.
Truth is I could never be a queen. Also, 8 years old would’ve been far too young to fall in love with a prince! Hehehe
True story.
